The realisation of the Comenius project has inspired
a lot of ideas for wide cooperation with Europe.
Maybe not everything will be easily done, but we are
certain that there many areas for cooperation.
Find out our suggestions for now and after Comenius.
WE READ NORWEGIAN BOOKS
 |
By the touch of the fat it happened that our Norwegian
partners live in the region presented in the literature
of two great Norwegian writers: Henry Ibsen and Knut Hamsun.
During our visit to Grimstad in May 2005 we learnt a lot about
these two, and that is how it all started. We also feel ashamed
that among European fairy tales published in Poland we can see only
those from EU member states, whereas Norway has a beautiful
literature, too. In opposition to those publishers neglecting
Norway, we decided to deal more with Norwegian literature.

The oldest thing I can remember from Norwegian literature
is Roald Amundsen's retelling his journeys to the Pole,
which I read in primary school. They made a great impression on me.
Not that I dream of such cold expeditions myself, but because
I have always liked exciting journey stories. I searched through
the Internet to learn who among contemporary Norwegian writers
is popular and of course I found Jostein Gaarder. I started with
"Sophie's World" and must say that read it with pleasure,
but the ending did not really fall with me. I hope that J. G. is not
able to read this because I have planned a short meeting with him when
we next go to Norway. He will be presented with a locked box which he
describes in "The Christmas Mystery". I read both books with great
pleasure because some events happen in Norwegian towns which
I know myself. I was particularly surprised though that in
"The Christmas Mystery" the travel carefully skips central Europe.
Do I suffer from some inferiority complex or something? (KKD)

2006 - THE YEAR OF IBSEN IN GDANSK
We decided to join the cultural activities of the whole Europe
in connection with the year of Ibsen - 2006,
announced by Norwegians. We proposed for our local community:
25 April 2006
Workshop --> "Norwegian literature for children"
14 June 2006
Polish performance of "Terje Vigen"
Ibsen is said to have been Norwegian, but his spirit was universal.
He spent many years outside Norway; he was like a modern European
- open to cooperation with everybody. The opening of the year
of Ibsen - 2006 was held on 14 January 2006 in Oslo,
and a month later we at our school started preparations for staging
"Terje Vigen" in Polish. If you would like to learn more about
H. Ibsen, like we, we suggest the following sites:

RETURN AT SEA
Three of our partner schools are located in seacoast towns, but clearly the Greek and Norwegian
are much more bound with their sea than the Polish. Perhaps we should "come back to the sea".
It is becoming clear that we are going to move around literature connected with the sea,
so hopefully a physical come-back will be easier, too. Especially that in Górki Zachodnie
the National Center of Sailing is being set up. Sailing, like traveling, is an eternal passion of man.
