C. PROJECT CONTENT and ORGANISATION |
1.
What
are the concrete aims of the project and its expected impact on
the participants and other interested parties (on the pupils, teachers,
institutions, local community, wider educational community)?
The two main aims of the project are:
1.
Improve teacher’s
knowledge and cualification to bring children into reading as a way to develop themselves.
2.
Develop knowledge
about Europe both in teachers and students mainly regarding to traditional
characters and literature.
In order to get this goals we will cooperate with
other schools and exchange materials and information to make new materials that
we can use and improve with our own students. The project will include working with teachers but also
with school library and the use teachers do of it.
2.
Which
activities do you intend to carry out in the course of the project?
The suggested secuence to work for the three years
project is:
I.- Knowing each other.- The way pleasure reading
is included in the curricula of different countries and in activities of the
European schools. Abilities for reading of children with different ages. What
teachers and parents think that children should read. Using new technology in
reading.
II.-
Bringing children to pleasure reading.- Children literature
(traditional and modern) in different countries. Games to play about reading.
Developing school libraries. Reading in school – reading out of school. Making
our own books. Parents and grandparents cooperation.
III.- Creating materials to read.- Intercultural books with
cooperation from different schools and different cultures within schools.
Children reading in internet. Materials and methods to help teachers.
We hope to
have two international visits a year to organize and evaluate the way the project is going
on.
3.
What
kind of end product(s) do you intend to produce?
· Reports on the way different schools from different
countries cope with reading.
· Cds with material for children to read in different
languages.
· Cds with teacher materials to improve the way we bring
children to read.
· Seminars to be held where we can share our experience with other teachers and schools not
directly involved in the project.
· Web materials in each school web-page or in a new web
site.
4.
How
do you intend to evaluate the progress of the project and its impact
on the participating pupils and teachers, the participating institutions and,
where relevant, on the local community?
By using questionnaires and surveys during the project
which will be sent to participants (teachers, pupils, parents and other members
of school community). Also through the
materials we are able to make and use,
and knowing the progress that the students of each school make in reading.
5.
How
do you intend to disseminate the results, experience and end products
amongst the participating institutions, other institutions and the local
community?
By cooperation with Teacher Training Centres of each
country and sharing our experience to
other teachers in and out of participant school. We hope to hold and participate
in meetings and seminars. We will find the way to send the final Cds and
printed materials to other schools and educational institutions. We should
arrange meetings and talks with parents associations and school community in
general as well as Local libraries in each city
6.
What
kind of specific measures, if any, do you intend to take within
the project to:
§
facilitate the
participation of pupils with special educational needs?
§
ensure equal
opportunities for the participation of female and male pupils and staff?
§
promote
intercultural education, and/or to help combat racism/xenophobia?
§
facilitate the
participation of pupils/schools who/which are disadvantaged for socio-economic
or other reasons?
§
facilitate the
participation of disabled pupils and staff?
§
enhance the
participation of pupils from ethnic and other minority groups, in particular
children of migrant workers, gypsies, travellers and occupational travellers?
Children with special
needs of education are already integrated in our school so we will keep
the general organization but making materials to read which are suitable to
them as web as creating a nice atmosphere for them to work with others. We will
be very careful in selecting reading materials which help to teach human values
and rights and make all pupils learn from others. To improve the integration of
immigrants we will work also with traditions, language and books from the
countries they come from, even if they are not the same as participating in the
project or are not European countries. Same kind of work we intend to do with
other cultural minorities represented in the school groups.
7.
Please
describe the role of all participating institutions and explain how an
effective cooperation and distribution of tasks will be ensured.
At the beginning of each school year we will have a
meeting in order to establish the goals and organization for this year. Then
each school will work it own way according to goals, materials, pupils, times,…
established together. Each school will have its coordinator who will keep very
close contact with coordinators of other schools. Once every three months all
coordinators will send reports and other materials to the general coordinator
of the project who will show them in the web site.
By the end of each school year we will have another
meeting to evaluate the work done and
give ideas to improve the project during the following years.
8.
Does
the project intend to use information and communication technologies ? If
yes, what kind of technologies ? How and to what extent will they be used?
Internet, E-mail, video conference,... will be used to
have communication among different schools of the project, but also as working
materials and work results. We need to improve teachers knowledge in using new
technologies and the equipment of schools.
